Quim Bigas Bassart was invited to facilitate a workshop addressing the three mappings, that were produced during the SYT symposiums in Roskilde, Odense and Aarhus. A wish to look into and experiment with re-organizations and activations of the gathered materials. Through a collective practice of literally expanding the content of the mappings – objects, tags and titles – into the physical space of a black box, new and altering connections, contexts, meanings and memories appeared.

BIO – Quim Bigas Bassart
Quim Bigas Bassart was born in Malgrat de Mar and lives between Barcelona and Copenhagen. Artist working within the fields of choreography, dramaturgy and information procedures.

Dedicated to projects that seek to unfold a sense of place through the dispositive of dance and choreography. The artistic work that Quim has been doing during the last years, either within a research frame or with more thought-out formats as a product, uses different elements or constitutions of the event in order to contribute and conceive encounters.

Often in Quim’s works he uses documentary procedures in order to unfold a choreographical possibility that opens up perspectives of time that are in continuous. Often wonders on how to open modes of being through approaching the conjunction between memory, subjective experience and absence. Furthermore, is also intrigued by the role of the body as a somatic entity.
